Measure Your Referral Program Against the Revenue That Matters

A referral program earns its budget when you can show what it brings in. With this update, Talkable lets you measure referral revenue and total site revenue against the same purchases, so the results you share with your team and leadership hold up.

Every business counts revenue its own way. A subscription brand may want to look at one-time orders separately from subscriptions, and marketers often focus on specific products, channels, or campaigns. Talkable now follows your definition across both revenue tiles on your Dashboard and the Purchases report, so every number reflects the sales that matter to you.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Compare like for like. Apply the same traffic-source, UTM tag, and product filters to Site Revenue that you use for Referral Revenue, and include or exclude each one.
  • Focus on the revenue that matters. Leave out purchases such as subscriptions or specific products, and the tile’s totals, chart, and linked report all reflect the same filtered view.
  • Drill down to the product. Filter the Purchases report by product ID or SKU to see how individual products perform.
  • Cut out the noise. Exclude traffic sources, UTM values, and products from the Purchases report, not just include them.
  • Start when you’re ready. Your tiles and reports stay exactly as they are until you add a filter.

With Talkable, your referral program is measured on your terms, giving your team clear, consistent numbers to plan, report, and grow with.
